How do EVERPURE water filters work?
Improve your water quality
The DIY unit consists of an EVERPURE filter head, an easily replaceable S100 water filter cartridge, a faucet as well as piping and fittings, and a clamp connector.
The EVERPURE membrane is unique in its ablility to filter particles as small as 0.5 micron. Most healthy salts and minerals are smaller than 0.5 micron, thus enabling them to pass freely though the filter. Up to 95% of impurities exceed 0.5 micron and are therefore trapped forever in the filter housing.
EVERPURE membrane filter versus normal block filter
A typical 10″ carbon block filter has a surface area of only 506.45 square cm. The EVERPURE pre-coated membrane, shaped in the form of an envelope and folded into a concertina shape, is housed in a 10” tube, increasing the filter surface area to 2864.51 square cm. This gives an EVERPURE home water filter 5.6 times more surface area than your normal carbon block filter and increased 10 fold. | The EVERPURE filter consists of a coated aluminium housing to give the system sufficient strength to withstand high pressures (8.6 bar). This protects against the housing splitting or bursting under surges of pressure (normal household pressure is 4 bar). EVERPURE has coated the inside of the cartridge with a food grade polymer, to prevent water from coming in contact with the aluminium casing. | The membrane is lined with a very fine coat of carbon dust which once activated, absorbs chlorine and odours. The fine dust, in preference to the granules, increases the filtration surface sigificantly and thus the absorption area (similar to Nano technology). |
